Ti:Sapphire Laser Crystal

Ti:Sapphire Laser Crystal

Ti:Sapphire is the most widely used laser crystal for broadly tunable and ultrashort-pulse lasers with high gain and power output. Its tunable range covers 700 to 1000 nm, which makes it an excellent substitute for dye lasers in many applications. Frequency doubling in a nonlinear crystal such as BBO allows ultrafast UV and deep UV generation, down to 193 nm, and Ti:Sapphire is also widely used as the pump source of optical parametric oscillators to extend the tunable range further.

Key Features

  • Widely tunable from 700 to 1000 nm
  • The standard gain medium for ultrashort-pulse lasers
  • High gain and high power output
  • Excellent substitute for dye lasers
  • Doubles into the UV and deep UV, down to 193 nm
  • Widely used as the pump source for OPOs
