Yb:YAG Laser Crystal

Yb:YAG Laser Crystal

Yb:YAG is one of the most promising laser-active materials and is better suited to diode pumping than the traditional neodymium-doped crystals. It shows very low fractional heating, below 11%, very high slope efficiency, broad absorption bands of about 8 nm at 940 nm, and no excited-state absorption or up-conversion. It is conveniently pumped by reliable InGaAs diodes at 940 nm or 970 nm, and has high thermal conductivity and good mechanical strength.
