Oblique Wedge Lensed Fibers
Oblique Wedge Lensed Fibers
The Oblique Wedge Lensed Fiber combines a wedge (cylindrical lens) end face with an oblique bevel. A traditional wedge fiber lens needs an anti-reflective coating on its end surface to minimize light reflectivity; the oblique wedge lensed fiber, through its special geometry, makes the refractive angle between the cylindrical lens and the laser chip without affecting the optical path transmission. That effectively avoids the impact of reflected light on the life of the laser chip and eliminates the signal noise caused by reflected light, while removing the cost problem of low coating yield and the long-term reliability problem of the coating process. The datasheet lists the complete specifications and the ordering information.
Key Features
- No anti-reflective coating required
- Avoids reflected light reaching the laser chip
- Removes coating-related cost and reliability issues
Applications
- Assembly for LD
- optical direct coupling from LD chip into fiber
