Thermal Expanded Single Core Fiber
Thermal Expanded Single Core Fiber
The Thermal Expanded Single Core Fiber enlarges the core thermally at the splice point, creating a large expanded field. That gives low excess loss (0.04 dB typical, 0.1 dB maximum), much more tolerance for alignment, a stable splice and high coupling efficiency to a laser, making it a low loss splicing point between different fibers and for high power connector pigtails. The mode field, glass length, expand length, fiber type, pigtail, fiber length and both connectors are made to order; the datasheet lists the complete specifications and the ordering information.
