Wedge Lensed Optical Fibers
The Wedge Lensed Optical Fiber is ground to a wedge (cylindrical lens) end face on conventional single-mode, multimode or polarization maintaining fiber. Coupling an LD chip with an elongated light spot through the cylinder lens gives a good mode field match with the chip and therefore excellent coupling efficiency, with low loss and high precision. Wedge angle, radius of curvature, strip length, pigtail and connector are made to order; the datasheet lists the complete specifications and the ordering information.
